Uhm, No. it&#039;s that simple. Hardware virtualization is used to allow you to trap software operations that you need to emulate. AFAIK, it doesn&#039;t matter how good the hardware virtualization is, if it is being compared against the paravirtual guys who come along, rip out code that has to be emulated and replace it with code the co-operates with the hypervisor. Hardware virtualization is like putting a &quot;better&quot; suspension in your car so it can go over speed bumps faster. The paravirt guys just remove the speed bumps.</description>

Also kvm has good performance for cpu and block io but it might differ from guest to guest.

As time goes by and NPT/EPT will be widely deployed, kvm perform 90+% native performance on them.</description>
