Problem of larger storage

Posted on June 24, 2008. Filed under: Software | Tags: |

Arrghh! Google desktop search shows that there 310,160 files in my harddisk (almost).

This is what I call as the problem of huge storage. I almost never mind to cleanup or organize content on the disk. Accumulated in there is tons of junk, useless stuff. There are so many abandoned directories due to which I’ve almost run out of space on my 160G disk.

I know there are folks out there who are very systematic in that they organize things very often and purge unnecessary content. I envy them! Spending half an hour per day should bring my disk to a much better state, but even that half an hour sounds expensive! But I have to do it anyway. So, I’ve decided i’ll begin from today (as usual). Hope it will materialize (not so usual)!

mine’s mostly organised. except for the folder called “dump”
make it a point to not send any single _huge_ file there.
anyway, that’s like the biggest folder in size and no. of files!
in linux, i think we can make it not index a lot of system files. there are too many and small files right ?
